    Most of these don't seem to make a favorable impression, but they might serve as a good first 1911. For my money I'd spend more and get a Springfield.

    A servicable firearm. Not junk, but lower on the quality scale than a lot of others.

    You might be better off saving your money until you can afford a Springfield or Kimber.

    I have one and have no complaints. I bought 2 new Chip McCormmick mags,thought the mags that came with the gun were cheap looking although it did not missfeed with them. I have shot about 400 rounds thru it and with no problems. About 2 weeks after I bought it,seen a Springfield at the shop and in my opinion as far as looking at it,looked no different than my Charles Daly.

    I bought the cheaper 1911 to serve two purposes,I carry it on my side when riding my atv.The gun gets real dusty while riding and I carry it in my truck. If it ever gets stolen,at least it is no $600 dollar gun.
