firestorm pistols
Any ideas out there on the quality of these firearms. Now I don't expect to buy a smith and wesson quality pistol for $250 but are they worth the money for an inexpensive compact pistol? As always thanks for your replies.

I have the Firestorm .45acp and it's a good little gun. The accuracy isn't all that spectacular but at less than 15 yards it will hit within 2-3 inches of where it's aimed. Only downfall is the magazine capacity. 6+1.

I own a Bersa Thunder .380, I have been pretty pleased with this little cheap ( I paid $179.00) it was new and is a delux version, meaning it has some nickle plated hardware, ie.. slide latch, mag release. I have used their (Bersa, Firestorm) customer service and they were very good, purchased some parts, extra mags, grips, their prices are good, quick shippment, over all I'm pretty pleased with the company and the gun. Hope this helps some. PC

The Firestorm 380 is a BERSA. Looked into the best 380s awhile back.
The BERSA 380 has excellent reliability (100% even w/ HPs), accuracy & trigger.

Bersa (now "Firestorm") pistols have always been considered an excellent buy.
Having handled and shot several specimens of each, I consider them to be way above Beretta, for instance.
I don't figure that you can go too far wrong with your choice.0 -
We have a full size '1911' by Firestorm. After about 400 rounds, It quit. (This also happened in a published gun test a few years ago). After a little investigation, the firing pin WOULD drop if the slide was moved a 'hair' to the rear. I polished and SLIGHTLY smoothed the front of the detent on the bottom rear of the slide. After that it was OK, and shoots the X out to about 50 feet. My son has probably put about 800 rounds through it since then with no problems (I bought a Spr. Arm. for myself). The full size Firestorm we have is not built as tight a $700 gun, but it is tight at battery and shoots as good as I can hold off hand. It has a lifetime warranty, so if you don't have a '1911', I would say it was money well spent. (oh yeah, I would not recommend a 'mr fixit'approach for problems like I did) 0 -
A frequented dealer used to carry the Firestorm Mini 40 S&W. That's a ten round gun, and has never failed him. I happened across one in LNIB, all nickel, and put a deposit on it immediately. It feels right in the hand. Compact and tough.
The same fella tried to talk me into a Thunder 380 but I bought the PPK/S.
I am not impressed with it's accuracy; neither was a range instructor the other day.0
