which makarov is best?

Any opinions on which model Makarov is best? Russian, Bulgarian, East German?? What about the Hungarian FEG model PA63?? It seems to be the most reasonable of all. Is it reliable?Thanks

    ok looking too buy a makarov or variant.i like the 9x18 round,so which makarov is the best for the money?polish,hungarian,russian.etc?thanks in advance don

    I am quite fond of my E.German. Very good machining, fit and finish.

    For reliablity I'd opt for the Russian, for fit and finish the Bulgarian Arsenal Edition or the East German versions are better. All of them go bang every time [^]

    I've read here (maybe from Mark Christian) the Red Army required their Makarovs to have a failure rate of no more than 1 in 20,000 rounds fired.

    My PA-63 was a great shooter with 20 year old ammo,, but the newer stuff didn't seem to feed as well...?!??

    I recall the PA was Hungarian ... I think ...

    The PA-63 is smaller than the others if you are looking for a CC firearm, but the trigger pull is not the best.

    I have East German, Chinese, Russian, and PA-63. The East German is the best of these.

    It's easy to change out the trigger spring, and get a nice, smooth pull.

    I have the russian with the adjustable sights,....fit,..finish,..and accuracy is great.

    why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

    Saw a guy at local gun show this weekend with a crate of polish makarovs. Looked to be nice condition for $150 each.

    Also a rough trigger. I haven't yet done a trigger job on one, so I don't know how easy it might be.

    It should be pointed out that niether the Hungarian PA-63 nor the Polish M-64 is a true Makarov. They are their own weapons, and the parts will not interchange. The only thing "Makarov" about them is the caliber.
