Mfr. date of Savage 99EG?
I'm looking at a Savage 99EG and would like to know if I am able to purchase it out of state with my C&R license. Ser. number is 6656XX. Thanks for any help. Emery

1951 or later. It appears that there are no existing records of 99 dates of manufacture after about 1950.
My heros have always killed cowboys.0 -
mazo,
My source only goes up to ser# 566,000,
which went through 1950.So,yours was
made 1951 or later.Guess this will narrow
it down somewhat.

Guess I am out of luck for a direct purchase with my C&R license as this particular Savage is in 300 Savage and has the checkered stock and forearm. Since the serial numbers only go through 1950, the seller says FFL only, and rightfully so if he is to protect himself. Thanks to you all for taking the time to research and reply; I appreciate it.
