Nagant Revolver / use ? / ammo ?

Nagant 7.62 revolver, cylinder slides forward

I am curious enough about this to get one while restoring my collection. Can anyone give me a little quick information.

I may be happy with a display gun with a 'unique' feature...
but if ammo is available, having something 'shootable' would be a plus.

    I have been told that a .32 long will work, but I would really keep asking. Fiocci makes ammo, that is VERY expensive. You can also get replacement cylinder for .32 acp, but I hear they need fitting.

    I have one and have shot the 32 long with no problems. It will swell the brass. I also have the 32 ACP cylinder and it needed no work. This is not a target gun so don't expect too much in the accuracy dept.

    The reason that the cylinder slides is that the revolver is designed to insert the head of the case into the rear of the barrel when fired, theoretically giving a gas-tight seal.
    If you lay hands on original ammo, you will immediately note that the bullet is seated BELOW the case mouth.

    I've seen those 32acp cylinder for around 50.00 dollars I'm thinking of getting one. Is that a good price for a NIB one?

    Lee 7.62 nagant reloading dies, reform 32-20 brass. End up with short case, but it works! You may need to thin the rims from the front. Use 32 long data and approx 100gr bullet.
