Never! Don't try it! It is not legal and crazy! 9mm have about 189-290 foot-pounds.[V] Not enough. Use at least a .23 cal

It'd be fairer to the animals if you would jump on them and stab'em with a butter knife. [:0][V][B)]

Only if the deer is the size of a jack rabbit!!

If it ain't got a minimium of 500 ft. lbs. of energy (at the desired range) then I wouldn't use it. That's my personal preference, but that's also the law in many states. 0 -
For true small game- rabbits, squirrels, etc. etc. it would be fine. For deer, the cartridge just don't have the oomph. Not saying it WOULDN'T or COULDN'T kill a deer, but that it probably would just wound.

No self respecting man would shoot another human with a 9mm, let alone an animal that he "hunted" It's a worthless caliber that is way over hyped. Don't take a knife to a gunfight. A 9mm isn't a real gun.

Pdog...I guess by now, you've gotten the idea that that's not a real popular idea. [:D]
Just in case you didn't get the hint, the answer is NO!0 -
The combo will kill a deer, but it is not the best tool for the job or even in the top 50 choices for ethical hunting. IMHO

Hey,
its legal in my state but I don't think there is anyone silly or unethical enough to try it. If you want to use handgun loads to kill deer step it up a couple of notches and go .44 mag. The deer will thank you.0 -
Was a curiousity thing. Didnt' really plan on using it. 0 -
Killed a deer with a broken back (he was hit by a car--fortunately, not my car) with a 9mm Glaser round. He was trying to get up and was jerking his head, so I shot him once in the chest--you could see that would have killed him shortly as he became perfectly still--but I followed with a quick shot to his head. This was at a distance of about 8ft. 0
