I just bought a used new england fireams 223 and I am desperatly looking for a parts diagram for it. I need to figure out how to take the barrel release apart. Basically the arm that the hammer spring rested against broke off. When I fit a new one into the hammer the hammer no longer will fit back into the frame unless I take the release off. I didn't want to just take the thing off without knowing what all was involved because I'm sure it's spring loaded. I'm also trying to figure out how I am going to compress the spring enough so that I can fit the hammer back in once I take the release off. I am open to any suggestions and I thank anyone for their help in advance.

  Did you try Gun Parts in New York? I think they have diagrams on their websight.
