Encore peep site aperture
I put a peepsite on my 209 x 50 (T/C brand) muzzleloader. Are different size apertures available? Or should I just drill it out to a larger size which I desire?

Drilling it out will work, if you are careful; but what brand of sight is it? If it's a Lyman or Williams you can get different sized apertures. 0 -
It is a T/C brand that is not offered anymore. Would have to know if the apertures have a standard size or thread. 0 -
I don't know what type shooting you are doing, but if it's target shooting, the apature size will vary depending on the amount of light (sunny or cloudy day). The rule of thumb: you want the smallest size apature that doesn't "gray" the light.
When I shot competitively, I used an adjustable apature rear peep. To adjust it correctly, I would close the opening until the target started to appear gray. Then back it up one or two clicks until everything got bright again. That is the correct way to set rear peeps for target shooting.
For whatever that's worth,

I would contact Brownells and see if they could offer any help.
