MOD.700 PROBLEM

BOBBYWINS
I learned over the weekend that my
Brother-in-law has a 700 that fires
(sometimes)when the safety is moved
to the "fire" posision.I've heard of
this,but didn't know what to recomend
he do.Will Remington take care of it,
or does he need to see a gunsmith?

    This was a recall issue with Remington. I have no doubt they will still cover it. When this happened years ago, two friends of mine sent theirs back, and were even reimbursed for postage if I remember correctley- Bob

    AFTER MANY YEARS OF WD-40 THE TRIGGER MECH. WILL GUM UP AND DO THIS, EITHER SEND IT BACK TO REM. OR TAKE IT TO A GUNSMITH FOR A GOOD CLEANING. KEEP IN MIND, IF YOU SEND IT TO REM. YOU WILL GET A STOCK TRIGGER BACK (7 TO 8 LB. PULL).

    BW.... Hangfire is right. Rem did have a recall for this problem.

    It is a liability issue, so they will for sure take care of it.
    Its also a major safety issue. If you call them, 800-243-9700, and tell them what you have they will likely pay the postage both ways.
