I went to a gun show today, well yesterday really. I wernt looking for a 25/06. Didn't find one. Made two circuits of the place. Then I saw IT!! A model 660 Remington in 350 Rem mag. I bought one new in about 1970. Somehow, it got away from me.
This one is about 90%,maybe 92%. The guy was asking $650.00 for it with a box of ammo. I gave him 575.00. Is this a good deal? It doesn't really matter, because I am going to keep it. I just wondered.

Sounds like a good deal to me! I bought a 600 Remington in .308Win once for $10. It had been in a commercial store fire and needed some new plastic parts which costs me $3.30. Best damn little gun I ever owned and wished today I still had it. I shot the largest buck I ever took with that gun (9-pt)and sold it years later for $80. I refered to the buck as my thirteen-thirty buck. I bought a pre-64 Winchester model 88 for the same $80.
Be proud of that purchase!

Ya did good as far as I'm concerned.I've had
a 600 Mohawk in .243 for years now and absolutely
love it.The Mohawk being the lowest priced
in the 600 series,and the 660 being the
"Top of The Line",I wish I could find one
at that price.

Thanks for the input. There was a guy selling a mod 600 350 mag. He was asking 800.00. It was in very good shape, but I was looking for a 660 for a long time.
Might go back today and look for brass and more ammo.

It doesn't sound too good to me. About two years ago I bought a Remington 660, 308 Win., for $350. The rear sight was missing but it had scope rings installed. Part of the stock had been cut back for a peep sight. I installed a new rear sight and added a scope. I like it

Hey you did great. The last two we had in the store went for $700-$750. These are a highly sought after gun although they kick worse than a mule.
I suggest you hold on tight when you shoot it. By the way Remington is chambering this round again in the new 673 rifle which should bring back some interest in this caliber.0 -

Although your 660 was a deal at $350,it's been
modified,therefore reducing the "collector" value.
Snow's 660 on the otherhand(assuming the 90-92%
original condition)was a deal as well.Not too many
600 series Remingtons are out there that don't get
used A LOT by their proud owners(myself being one).
I rarely see one in that condition for that price.

Thanks, guys. I thought it was a good deal, but I wasn't too concerned with that. I wanted the gun. I have seen the lighter calibers sell for a bit less, but the magnums always seem to be higher. This one is in great shape, but it is going to be a shooter.
As far as recoil, I had one a long time ago( bought it new for $139.00). Besides, it can't kick like my 458 Win Mag.

Saw one in a shop a few days ago for $425 in about 85% condition, also .350. Values on these things are regional, so it really depends upon what they are going for in your area.

Personally I consider them a buy anywhere under $500.00. I probably paid way to much for my 600 in 350 mag @ $800.00, a year ago, but I like the little gun.
