Stainless Steel barrel and action????
Does anyone know of a process or a company that enables you can paint or color a stainless barrel and action to take away the glare. I heard of a company many years ago called Z-coat which was a baking process, but can't find anything on them now. Any and all suggestions welcome. Thanks

This is kinda a "chezzy" way of doing it, But I have had a few friends
Moly Coat the outside of there barrels with Ms Molly coat. It gives a dark grey matt finish. But, the good part it will resist moisture and is very hard to scratch. Looks nice if you mask things off.

nyforester,
Here is a list of websites to look into. Some of these processes are available for use at home while others are proprietary. Check out the Brownells website. They carry stainless blacking solution to apply to your rifle but I don't know how wear resistant it is. Cross reference the other products as they may be available to us as consumers.
Best.

Well I dont know if this will help but I have a stainless steel barrel and action 22. but it doesnt glare. But you can take normal gun solvent and put it on the gun barrel and dont wipe it off. This will make it a light gray and it wont be all glarie. And when you want to take the gray off take papertowel and wipe it off. 0
