Winchester 61 tang sight installation and value
i have access to a marlble's tang sight that fits my winchester model 61. However, the 61 is not drilled and tapped. Will it hurt the value much to tap the rear of the tang to install the tang sight? The gun is in about 75% condition, and i use it to shoot varmints. thanks,dave@sisqtel.net

If the price is right on the tang sight, buy it and use it on another rifle that is drilled for a tang sight, even if you don't currently own such a gun.

the marbles tang sight will be worth more than the gun once you drill it! btw...does your 61 have sights presently? youre not drilling into a smoothbore 61 are you? geesh, i hope not! 0 -
thanks for the help. I see its better to hold onto the sight and find a 61 that is already drilled, keeping mine original. thanks again 0
