what does it mean?

I have a colt revolver and on the bottom of the barrel is stamped
CAI ST AIR VT... I am thinking that it is an importers stamp...I try searching on the internet and I come up with Century International Arms out of Florida... I am thinking that the VT in the stamping stands for the state of Vermont though...

  You are correct, but Century has several warehouses on the east coast. I believe it's Arlington, Vermont.

  I believe that it is St Albans, VT.
  
  I also believe that you are looking at a COPY of a Colt revolver.
