A close friend of my fathers wishes to sell me his old ted williams semi auto 20 guage for $250.00 is this a fair price? I have shot it and it functions perfectly, the stock has several nicks in it, but there is no sign of pitting on any of the blued pieces. I was looking for a 20 guage shotgun for my girlfriend to use when we go bird hunting.
    Thanks,
    Ryan

You didn't mention type of barrel, length, rib, choke, etc. For example, no rib, nicks or cracks in the stock, outside choke, all generally are negatives, lowering the value.

    Hello gogolen...

Not in my opinion it isn't. It is realistically only worth about half of that amount.

    250.00 IS TOO MUCH.

I WOULD RATHER BE DUCK HUNTING.

The Ted Williams models were made by manufacturers to be sold by Sears under the house name. There is no collector market for these firearms and they sell as shooters. Unless it has features not mentioned that would enhance it's value, $125-$150.

Good Luck! If it does not work out there are lots of really decent shotguns out there.
