dont pick up the gun. let your firearms knowledgable friend next door do everything, for your own safety. florida is very liberal with gun laws. my question is, where did you buy the box? a home? or a flea market? you might be selling someones registered gun! you might want to find out if the person that sold you the box at the tag sale knew the gun was in there. if you sell the gun and the numbers come up stolen or it was involved in a crime, you might be in trouble. guys back me up on this.....i say notify the person that sold him the box. if the person who sold him the box isnt the owner of the gun or cant prove it thru questioning and supplying i.d. (to back his claim up,)then bring the gun to a dealer and run the numbers. make sure its clean, and then sell it via a florida consignment. if it comes up dirty, give it to the cops. lets help this guy! 0 -
FL is one of the more enlightened states when it comes to gun laws.
Yes, you can sell it here on Gunbroker if you want; if you go to the "For sellers" section off the home page, you can get detailed instructions.
However, considering the fact that you aren't familiar with guns, I don't recommend it; it's too easy to violate federal law, & I wouldn't take a chance just to get $100-125. I'd sell it to a local gun shop, or give it to the local police station (one of the cops might appreciate a back-up gun.)

my only comment is to run the numbers to make sure it isnt stolen..you dont want to get caught in that trap

DerGeb and Kris are right on this. If I bought a old chest and found gold in it, I would think it's mine.
Run the numbers, if clean, do as you will with it within all applicable laws.

Have the numbers run. If it's clean, keep it an do with it what you please. You bought it legitamatly. If it's dirty, take it to the nearest police station, explain the situation, and cover your backside. 0
