marlin 9 carbine pricing?

A local pawn shop has a marlin 9 carbine. Their asking $290, which seems a bit high. I would say its in 92-95% condition. I offered him $225 cash and he would not accept. What would be a fair price? (its the wood - blued version) Also will they take S&W #59 mags?

    These havent been around in awhile and there seems to be a little cult following on these. He may have alot in it also. Id say its worth atleast $250.00 it all depends on how bad you want it. Its only $$ and you cant take it with you.

    The 59 Smiths will work fine. I use the 6906 mags since they fit flush with the mag well.Bob

    Fair price. They are not making these any more. I just bought one from a Dealer with a Simmons scope. He let it go for 300 out the door. They do take the staggered 59 series mags. I own a 6904 so that comes in handy with a matching pistol. Wilson mags also sells 20 rd mags for em for around 14 buckaroos each.

    $290.00 is a bit high. I believe that $250.00 would be closer to the mark. My 2 cents [8D]

    DEPENDS IF YOU WANT ONE. IF YOU DO ,$290.00 IS A FAIR PRICE. CHECK THE AUCTIONS. I THINK YOU WILL FIND THAT THAT IS THE GOING PRICE.

    Thanks everyone for input. I checked on auctions and price were even higher $350- 450 range. I guess $290 fairly reasonable.

    I stumbled across mine at a Dealer ( had it hid in the corner ) Ask him and he said 325 plus tax with scope. I showed him 3 c notes including tax. Good gun and you will like it.

    I think you will be pretty impressed with the Marlin Camp 9mm. It's a great little rifle. It's the Ruger 10/22 of the 9mm carbines in my opinion. They did make another one at one time that was chambered for .45acp and took the regular ole 1911 magazines. Wish I could find one for a fair price...I got a camp 9 now just want a camp 45 to compliment it.

    The $290.00 they are asking I'd fork over for another camp 9. It's worth that to me.

    Those who have been on this forum for any lenght of time know that "shotguns" are my "thing". However, I do have safe(s)---that's pleural--full of firearms.

    I am not about to take "rldowns3" on. He/She is right on about 9X19mm. I have 9X19, 9X21, and 9X23mm and I NOT a 9X19mm fan.

    I DO NOT have a Marlin carbine in 9X19mm and I am NOT about to acquire one, unless it is is an ABSOLUTELY "rock-bottum" price, with two extra magazines.

    I have a Marlin .45 carbine and several "high-capacity" straight magazines. "Lord knows"--I wish the carbine was set up for "double-stack" magazines.

    My son is in the military---and I can beat his rear every-time at 100 meters with my Marlin .45 carbine verses his military .233 carbine.
    I hope that that he is NOT called to duty in Iraq, since he is a highly trained Combat Egnineer, if you want it built or "blown-up"---he is who you want----his mother and I have trained him to be far too trusting----UNFORUNATELY!!!!!!!!!!!! It will get him killed it Iraq.

    I have the camp 9 and the 45. The camp 9, i gave about $235 plus some extra for extra 30rd. mags.at a gun show, on sunday, late in the day, when nothing was selling good. It wasn't a good show anyway in a sense. The price, as told before, is going up everyday.
    The 45 is a diferent story. It was at good show, and it was the only one there and the guy knew it. Like someone said before, i had the 9mm and WANTED the 45 for a set. $500 later and a lot of walking around trying not to seem interested (yeah right),i had the set i WANTED. Now if i could just find something useful for either of them besides WANTING them.

    I also own the 9 and 45 for some time know. They are great guns ,i have cracked 2 different marlin stocks on the 45 and marlin stands behind there guns they have replaced both of them also you will come to find out on the camp 45 its prone to full auto bursts once in awhile,and im not the first person to say that[^]

    LET MY BIG 50 DO THE TALKIN FOR ME!!!!!!!
