Super Sniper riflescope -any good
Does anyone have experiance with these scopes- they make them in 10X 16x and 20X- they are a fixed power scope with a mil dot reticle - the 10X version has a millitary contract. Any info would be helpfull- I was especially looking at the 20X version for long range shooting with my Savage model 10 heavy barrel .308.

I have the 10x. Very well built. Though I didn't think the clarity was as good as the Burris my friend has. I've put 25 rnds through it in the process of sighting it in and it worked great. Probably need to put another 200-500 through before I can say if there's anything negative. 0 -
I have the 10x model on my Remington M700VS in .308 Winchester. I have had it for about two years with no problems. The clarity isn't as good as my Nikon Monarch, but I haven't had any problem with it losing its zero. I would recommend it if you are looking for a military-type riflescope but do not want to pay $1,000 for one.

any time a scope must depend on the word 'sniper' to sell it, be cautious. real good scopes always sell themselves.

I didn't care what name they put on it. I wanted a fixed 10 power mildot around the 40 mm objective range. Weren't too many choices in my price range. The next closest was $800.

I think it is it's own brand name but they were made by Tasco orginally. SWFA is the only place you can order one ( see there web page www.riflescopes.com They have a big write up on them and the navy is using the 10x version according to the web page. 0 -

Leupold makes the mil-dot reticle for their scopes, if you can latch on a used one cheap they will install that reticle in it for a fee.0 -
GreenLantern Bushnell makes a 10x40 with mil dot now. Its pretty good. I don't think the supersnipers that are out there have a warrenty. No tascos that were made by the florida company have a warrenty. that might be something to consider. Bushnell is trying to bring the supersniper back into production under the tasco name though.

I have 2 of the 20X's ... one I swithch between my AUG Special Receiver and Steyr 69 SSG and the other on my HK-91 clone with a stainless fluted heavy barrel ... they work well and haven't had a problem with either.

How long have they been on the market? I'm not sure I've seen any of them.0 -

There's a web site called www.sniper'shide.com that had some real good answers to your question some actually prefered the $156. 3200 bushnell from nacheze for the solid clicks vs the softer clicks on the super sniper 0
