What Lever action in a 25-06?
My uncle has wanted a lever action deer gun for riding (rides all the time)and I was wondering who makes a model in that caliber. Most have been 30-30 or the cowboy calibers.
Thanks for any info. Other calibers from .243 to .270 would work also.

Dunno if anyone does. Browning might. You'd need a box magazine if you wanted to prevent recoil from detonating the rds in the mag, from impact of the pointed bullets on the primer of the next round (or so the story goes). Savage M99 was another lever with a detachable box mag. According to my Guns and Ammo annual, the Browning was (is?) offered in 270 and 243. Savage was available in 308,so maybe 243 also 0 -
Try to locate a SAKO Finnwolf lever action from the mid 1960's to early 1970's. These were available in .243 as well as .308 and are fine rifles...but expensive.

Travis: Just got off the phone with one of the larger gun shops in my area , I ask them about the browning and they said that at this time browning is not makeing the BLR in 25-06 , you can get it in 270, 30-06, 7mm mag for the long action and 22-250, 243, 7mm-08, 308 and 450 Marlin in the short action , he also said that Browning was coming out with several new chambering in the short mags , so you may want to wait just a little and see what next year brings 0 -
Why not re-barrel a Browning 270 or 30/06 to 25/06?
It ain't what you shoot, it's what you hit.0 -
Browning, BLR lightweight '81 (short action) 243cal. 20" barrel, 3-4 shot detachable mag. straight grip, 6.5 to 7lbs. 0 -
Savage 99 was available in .250-3000,.243 and .308. Was a short action rifle. Too bad it was discontinued before the short mags came out. 0 -
Don't forget the best one of all.The Winchester 88 came in .243,.308,.284 and .358 rare.
