Used to own one. Theres a reason I USED to own it. If you dont want to spend a lot, spend your money on a ruger.

I like your junky old Llama; I have one that is nearly identical and when I read the target (not the pundits), I can't tell the difference between it and my K22--they both shoot better than me. So does my Astra Cadix .38.

The quality control on the revolvers seems better than on the autos, especially the recent autos, which in my experience vary between reliable and crap. Earlier Llamas seem to be more reliable; I have a 1988 .38 Super imported by Stoeger that has never bobbled in many hundreds of rounds of Super and .38ACP including handloads (no, it isn't a Llama "Extra" 9mm/.38, but those work too, just NOT with .38 Super...).

If you're looking to push the gun's design by pounding lots of heavy handloads and +p+ factory through it, save your lunch money and get a Ruger Security Six, GP100, or an N or L-frame Smith. If you need an inexpensive gun for shooting and defense duty with factory stuff, I'd sure look at a Llama or Astra revolver that's been well cared for.

I used to have a Llama revolver in .357 mag with the 8" barrel.....I think it was dubbed the "super llama" as it was constructed on a large .44mag frame and cylinder just that it was cut for .357mag. I really liked that gun. My dad and I used to load up some super hot .357 mag loads for it and that gun could handle the punishment and more. It was pretty accurate too.
