1911 .22 cal conversion units
I have a Ciener .22 cal conversion unit I bought used. Ran 1,000 rounds thru it with less than 5 feed/ejection jams. I was wondering if Kimber conversion mags will work in my Ciener unit. Anybody know?

yes they will the ciener and kimber units are one and the same just on says kimber and costs more lol 0 -
After I posted this, I checked the Kimber website. They referred to the old type conversion unit and the new type. Supposedly, the mags are not the same. I'll call them to make sure and post the results.

I just checked the Wilson website. It looks like they're selling Ciener's conversion under their own name and charging a premium for the process. They want over forty bucks for a mag that Ciener wants about thirty five. It seems like nobody will discount them for fear of invoking Mr. Ciener's wrath. I'd like to buy 10 mags (I shoot a lot) but, don't want to go broke doing it.

I called Kimber and was told the older conversion unit, the one in the blue box, is a Ciener. They no longer sell the mags. Have to buy them from Ciener.
The unit they sell now, is made by them. When they came out with a .22 pistol, they decided to make their own conversion units, since they already had the tooling.
So, the current (non-blue box) conversion mags are not compatible.

Heres the trick on eBay. Bidding early just runs up the price. Unlike GunBroker.com there is no anti-sniping apparatus on eBay. Go to auctionsniper.com and sign up for free and get three free snipes. This puts in your bid in the last few seconds and gives nobody a chance to outbid you, unless they were higher to begin with. I had moral problems with this at first, but after getting sniped too many times I just see it as returning fire. Good luck.

I was aware of the sniping, and also have a moral problem with the process. Have been resisting this for a couple of years, but it seems to be the way of doing business on eBay. For the moment, I'm going to avoid the whole mess. I'd rather lose an auction than become part of something I despise. I'm not making a moral statement, just am a stubborn person who refuses to be forced into things. Thanks for your suggestion. I appreciate your interest & concern.

Seems to me one could put in a series of bids the last few minutes, say two bucks apart, higher and higher, that would tend to crowd out other last minute bidders. What think??? 0 -
I just bid my maximium amount then walk away and don't look at the results until the end. If they outbid me then fine... I like the 15 minute rule. Ebay sucks and is only getting worse! 0
