Can anyone tell how old serial# 3836565 thanks

    How much would a winchester 94 pre 64 mech. and bore excellent finish is cashed no blue has some surface rust but no pits just light rust in places worth???? It is in 30 WCF.

    Your 94 was made in the 1st half of 1973, according to the Winchester book. Regards Dave

    Does anyone have any information on a Model 1892 Winchester rifle with serial #85216. It has a Oct. 14, 1884 patent on it. There isn't a caliber stamped on it so we don't even know what caliber it is. It looks like about a .45 with an octagonal barrel.

    As much info on the gun as possible would be great...maybe even an approximate appraisal value?

    Hello Stets...

    Your Model 1892 Rifle was made in the early part of 1895, and it is chambered for the 44 W.C.F. cartridge. The caliber stamp should be marked on the barrel right after the Winchester address stamp.

    Without a detailed description of the exact condition of your rifle, it is not reaslistic or practical to say what it might be worth, but Model 1892s can be worth several thou$and dollar$ if in reasonably good condition and if they are in 100% original factory configuration. Your rifle will have about a 25% value premium due to it being manufactured pre-1899.

    Thanks very much for the info Bert. We've pretty much searched the gun over for a caliber stamp but have come up with nothing. The Winchester address, patent date, model number and serial number are all plainly visible but the caliber stamp is nowhere to be seen. Anyway, thanks again for the info.

    Stets: You might check under the forearm on the barrel just in front of the receiver as some of the early ones had the year and calibre stamped there.[:)]
