    Hi, I have been shooting : 200gr SWC / Fed #150 primer with 4.4 gr of
    Bullseye. It's a nice accurate,moderate recoiling load for my Kimber.

    when you ask..? a good target load, do you mean like in paper , line shoots , competion for score if so most of the loads that are listed here are pretty dam hot like in lots of recoil....

    I'm not sure that the kind of target makes a difference. So, maybe I should have said I'm looking for the most accurate load. That is, in your experience, remembering that each pistol has it's own peferences. However, I do agree with you, these loads do sound a little hot for "target" shooting. I'm already at 3.8gr Bullseye/230gr hard cast RN.

    GUNNER CHRIS, shut off your caps lock.
    4.5 grains of Bullseye over a 230 grain bullet works well.

    I agree that those sound pretty hot for punching paper....or for hunting the ever dangerous and wiley Campbell's Tomato Soup can.

    My favorite load for target/plinking is a 200 grain (wheelweight) SWC ahead of 3.5 to 3.7 grains of Bullseye.

    I'd start at 3.4 grains and work up .1 grain at a time and see what shoots best in your gun.

    in competion shooting you want to be able to recover from each trigger pull as fast as possible the more recall the less time you have to get back on target consider 5 shots from a .45 in ten seconds ..." more recoil or less recoil" kinda makes a difference
    paper shooting you tune the gun to the ammo, 148gr,w.c., 3.4 bullseye but thats no scope [not allowed anyway] the more weight on the slide means changing some springs an some tuning on your metal work your only shooting 50 ft indoors you should join a club you'll find it has a lot to offer

    I SHOOT IN IDPA COMPETITION. TO MEET THE MIN. POWER FACTOR AND GET THE LEAST RECOIL AND LEAST MUZZLE FLASH FOR LOW LIGHT SHOOTING AND DAY TIME SHOOTING. TRY 230gr RAINIER AND 3.8 HODGDON CLAYS. THIS WORKS VERY WELL FOE ME.
