30mm = how many inches ?

Dumb question but I wanted to figure it out. So a scope advertised with a 30mm tube would equal how many inches to the fraction.

  Multiply the mm X .04, which in this case gives you 1.2 inches.

  My scale reads 1.181 inches

  25.4mm per inch, hence 1.181 as I.Shute determined
