how to send a rifle
I am thinking about trading a rifle with a another guy, but he lives in another state what is the best way to ship and how should I go about doing it so everything will be legal? I don't want any thing to come back later and haunt me.

Federal law requires each of you to ship the rifle to an FFL in the recipients state. In addition, each rifle must be legal in the recipients state/local jurisdiction.
Neither of you needs an FFL to ship the rifle to the others FFL; you should request a signed copy of the others FFL before shipping. The best way to ship is USPS insured; you do not need to tell them the contents of the package. You can use UPS, but you must ship from a company counter & you must declare the contents as "firearm for repair".
