Locked Topic

I submitted a post that I was getting some great dialogue and info from then all of a sudden it became locked and the ability to interact was lost. I'm not sure where all the lines are, but it seemed like everybody was within them.

I'm new so could someone shed some light on why a topic might become locked?

    what causes a topic to be locked? Not covered by posting guidelines.

    Yep, the usual number is 10 on this forum, but the mod doesn't sit here 24/7 so if they go over that it's just because he's away. You can have virtually unlimited numbers over on the general forum so ya might want to try there too.
    Capt. Kirk stated once that 10 replies should get most questions answered and after that they typically run off-course (or something like that).
    Don't take it personal, we all get locked sometime[:)]!

    ditto to all said. 10 is the number before it turns into a struggle to keep it going. most info can be obtained within 10 posts. most of those needing more info just start another thread to get more if needed. good luck on your canoeing! btw...what do you float? i use a white discovery 17'. cane seated, float bag in center. its slow thru 1's and 2's but you gotta be on yout toes for 3's! i portage 4's and 5's with it! if i had a 'mad river,' it woud be a different story! btw...the canoe cost more than the gun and truck combined!

    our faithful monitor had his hands full this past weekend. power had been out on him for a couple of days and high winds were threatning his prize criscraft collection! lets guess which was more important....chriscraft...whining posters.....chriscraft....whining posters......yep you guessed it. his criscraft got looked after and a handful went past 10! to think what one must do to obtain glee. im glad im not ole' capt kirk! and im glad im not on his bad guy list...yet!

    i was agreeing with and eluding to jsergovics post on how some find glee in beating the capt. man...dont give me capts job...id blow them out of the water! heehe. anyway...this is an example of how by 10 posts, it all grows old!

    nope...he's out checking his bildges on his chriscarft. strong winds had his boats bobbing around. just picture all that hand sanded varnished wood, chromed V-8 block with chrome value covers and blower, getting rammed up against a pier....poor guy. whenever it goes over 10, you know capt is busy!

    Hey this isn't about a con. admend. deal! bam is right, after so long the original topic starts to drift. Heck, I've been guilty of that myself. If you don't get a satisfactory answer to your question, just post it again. This forum has been the best thing that has happened to me since cold beer. Well maybe the second best!
