Does anyone have an opinion of the inexpensive Republic 45 pistol?

You get what you pay for generally. The Republic uses a polymer frame with a steel (I think/hope) upper. I seem to remember them utilizing a gas-delayed blowback operation and having a 5-6rd mag. I seem to remember them getting decent reviews in the gun rags (like most guns the evaluate[B)]) but if you've held one, you'd swear it was an overgrown Lorcin.

Junk....I've shot one.....they are junk. They have a horrid trigger and no accuracy. Only plus to them was that the one I fired didn't jam.

Yea they only come in the compact 3" variety in either brushed steel or some type of black coating. Saw one brand new in box at a show for $255. Fella couldn't give it away. Can't figure out why.[V][xx(]
