I have a friend who has an antique pistol, made in belgium, (after 1893 by the proof mark,) black powder, double barrel , looks like a small shotgun, 6 inch barrels, have "12 cal" written on it.Althought barrels have a belgian proof mark, they say "New York " on the top. Seems to almost fit a 2 inch .410 shell. Twin, outside hammers. No rifling in the barrels. I have looked in the blue book, but dont see it,,, (I can get photos of it if you want). What is this? Who made it, and how do I find a valuefor this guy? He has shown it to several dealers, they are fascinated, but dont know who made it.
    Thanks!

If you can come across a book, Arms of the World-1911, the one I have is a reprint of the ALFA catalogue, soft back edition. It shows similar style of pistols for sale in 1911.

Take a look at page # 27 of the December, 2003 issue of The American Rifleman. Sounds like you have something similar, but perhaps made for shot; although the article doesn't say if these, any or all, were rifled.
