Ruger Bearcat, C: 1963
In about 1963/64 I purchased a Ruger Bearcat single action .22 with a Bucheimer holster and belt from a fellow that needed cash. He was a shipmate of mine so the lineage is OK on the handgun. Total cost was $25.00. I've not used the gun in quite some time and am considering selling. The Bearcat is in Good to Very Good condition. I've not spent too much time investigating market value so am asking this forum for an educated/experienced guess.

If you translate Good to Very Good into percentage of original finish remaining, at about 70%-80% the Bearcat is worth about $185-205. There was a variation made with a blackened aluminum trigger guard in the 73,000-77,000 serial number range that is apparently desirable as a collector's item and doubles the value of the gun. 0 -
It would help to know the serial #.
Yours might be in the range with the letter prefix serial #; it may also have a brass trigger guard, and the grips should look like a fossilized piece of wood in plastic.

The serial number is 35XXX, the trigger guard is brass/gold finish and the handgrips are a smooth wood.

Don, your gun was indeed made at that time ,by the serial number,late 1963,early 1964.The trigger guard is 'aluminum' that is anodized gold/brass color. If you should have the original box/shipping sleeve, this would enhance the value of your gun. As they said above, condition is the most critical part of the value. Around here in Ohio they go in the mid $200 range plus the "extras", sorry but to a collector the 'holster don't count, BUT there are holster collectors too![:)]
