Kart Conversion
I have the chance to purchase an early (1970's)original Fred Kart 22 conversion on a Colt frame. I was told that Fred Kart built the entire gun - not just the top end. It comes with two magazines and is in OK condition. It has not been modified for a red dot. Have the Karts gone from shooter status to collectors status? What is a "fair" price to pay for this pistol. I know that these pistols can be troublesome. I am not interested in shooting it as I have a Hammerli 208 for that purpose.
Thanks a lot to all who reply.

Kart units vary from $450 to $700 depending on where you find them. Complete pistols- add for frame and quality of work? Kart did make a few units using his own frame (guess 30 or less) but most I have seen are on a pre 70 Colt frame with "Kart" stamped on frame. They are more collector than shooter these days, but are good shooters. An "OK" condition would affect value as in any piece. Would be interested in more details. TOMBECK@NUVOX.NET 0 -

4 to 500.00 just for the upper with one mag. each mag is worth 50.00.
