55 grain Sierra do a good job in my Handi-Rifle that has a 1-7 twist.I think the fast twist is for lighter bullets.(60 grain and less)

I shoot "Hornady's" excellent 75gr. BTHP "TAP Precision" (Tactical Application Police) LEO ammo.

    I have two Colt AR-15's:

    1.) 20" barrel w/ a 1 in 7" twist

    2.) 16" barrel w/ a 1 in 9" twist

Both rifles get about the same muzzle velocity and sub 1" MOA groups at 100yd.s

I don't want to make any one mad but buddyb it is the oppisit. Fast twist (i.e. 1x7) you need heavy bullets. 55gr sierra will work but will not be as accurate as 63gr.

The 75gr. BTHP by Hornady is excellent for your longer shots, 300-600yds. as well as the intermediate ones. Iv'e been pushing mine with Vita-Vori N-135, not too fast but with good accuracy.
