STILL APPLIES. "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR"" DO YOU WANT TO DEPEND ON A "BARGIN" FOR YOUR HOME PROTECTION??

I WOULD RATHER BE DUCK HUNTING.

Want something durable, reliable, accurate out of the box, but won't fracture your wallet too badly?

Look at the Ruger P-Series autopistols. Not terribly attractive, but functional and reliable for not a huge amount of money.

    Just a thought....

Get the BUL M-5 over the Firestorm pistol.

"Kimber" uses the same polymer frame, but w/ their slide.

Go with the used Bul. The Isreali's make a very good gun and much more consistant quality.

Firestorm, Llama, Bersa, Star, Astra. ALL FINE RELIABLE PISTOLS. They only have ONE problem. They get no respect from ignorant, anti USA anything individuals. Which is OK, that is if you like spending more money for a pistol than you need to. Pays my bills[:D]

    Cost of labor.

    interstatepawnllc is right.

DA is recommended for a defensive gun.

I had a Llama that malfunctioned fairly regularly. After getting several opinions on the problem, I decided it wasn't worth paying to have it fixed. I sold it and got a Firestorm that always shoots fine. For 99.9% reliability go with a revolver.

Come on now ISP you never heard me bad mouth Astra, Star or Bersa. You have heard me bad mouth those companies that have less than a stellar reputation for quality control in both manufacturing and the quality of the components used.

You might add Kel-tec and E.A.A. to the list for around that price range. Good guns for the money.

Home protection= 12 ga. shotgun = buckshot = intruder knockdown

Love pistols, but try firing at night when your scared, that's why many police battles fire numerous rounds at close range and never hit anything. You may only get one chance at close range. Try a Mossberg 500 18".

This is not a popular answer with many, but very effective.

Also, if you buy a gun for protection, what's your life worth?
