W.Richards Shotgun

I have an old shotgun which was used as a fireplace accessory by my wifes father. It is a double-barrel, presumed 12 ga., with imprints of W.Richards on both hammer sections. It has "Laminated Steel" stamped on the middle section of the gun barrel. The gun barrel is 29 3/4" long, with a lever underneath which opens the breech. There is a serial number 20120 stamped on the lever area. I have been told that this is a possible "knock-off" of the British shotgun(Wesley Richards) mass produced in the USA by a number of manufactures. The gun is in fair shape, with definite pitting of the barrel. There is a crack on the stock at the grip area but does not penetrate through. The stock shows normal wear with age. All parts are intact and operate. Can someone help with the manufacture identity and date of manufacture. What value can be placed on this gun? Thanks.

W.Richards was made in Belgium and imported around 1900. The laminated steel barrels make the gun unsafe to shoot with modern loads, and some would argue with any loads. Your shotgun, while an interesting conversation piece, has value only as a decorator, which is in the $85-125 range. 0
