Marlin lever question
I can't seem to find a Marlin lever (which I think is the best) in a combo that suits me.
First off, what would be required (and is it possible) to switch a straight-grip stock over to a semi-pistol grip version? I assume the stock and the lever is all?!?
Second, I seem to recall that either Marlin, or an aftermarket company made synthetics stocks for these lever guns. Anyone have any info or links?
Lastly, are the levers interchangeable between the stainless 30-30 (336SS) and the stainless 45-70 versions (1895GS)? And are there any other snags anyone can think of?
Thanks!

Dont know about the 336, but I know that the 45-70 comes in a 22 inch barreled, pistol gripped model....personally, I prefer the older straight grip with the 22 inch barrel, combines better accuracy with quick handling...been my deer rifle for the past couple years, its a pleasure to carry and shoot...

Not a lever gun guru, but I would image on some, the tang has to be rebent to change from pistol grip to straight. A lot of them also have a completely different lever shape, but I imagine thats why you ask if the levers interchange. 0
