This is a very simple process since a post ban M16/AR-15 magazine will have this printed on its right side: RESTRICTED MILITARY/ GOVT/LAW ENFORCEMENT USE ONLY. And this printed on its left hand side: The date of manufacture. If this date is after 13 September, 1994 (and only a post ban magazine would be dated anyway) then it is a restricted magazine. This information comes directly off of one of my own LE restricted Colt magazines.

Mr. Christian, I presume you are discussing magazines with over 10 rounds of capacity, so the answer you gave is correct. However, I wonder if the poster is asking about magazines under 10 rounds of capacity? There is an unmarked 9-round post-ban Colt magazine shipped with current rifles.
Is that your question badhandzzz?0 -
