44 mag. for deer hunting

will a rifle with 44 mag do the trick on muel deer at 100 yards or should I stick with the 30/30?

  I can't answer for sure, but I've shot whitetail out to 60 yards with a .44 carbine and it dropped it where it stood.

  Go with the 44 mag. I have a ruger bolt 44mag and it has very good stoping power up to 150yd. If you want to drop them fast use a hollow point. Thats what i use for mule and whitetail[;)]
