Folding Stock for Yugo
If I own a Yugo 59/66 with the typical military wooden stock, can I lawfully refit with a ATI (or other) folding stock? I'm from Maine.
Thank you.
Thank you.

well the ban states most folding stocks had to been on a firearm before the ban and the yugos were imported well after the assult weapon ban
the thing that scares me is that we could be living in someone else's own reality0 -
The Yugo SKS was imported primarily after the ban so you would violate the law by putting a folder on it. The Yugo already has two "evil features" with the bayonet and the grenade launcher. YOu could not legally add a pistol grip stock, a folding stock, a detachable mag, or any other "evil feature" without removing one or both of the original features to keep the total under three.

All the above is true regarding the Yugo already having a bayonet and the grenade launcher, so adding the pistol grip and/or folding stock would be a violation. Yes, there were Yugo SKS's imported before the ban, but very few. They came in with the Yugo AK's before the 1989 ban. All that being said, the tolerances on the Yugo are different than on the Chinese, Russian, Romanian SKS's, so the aftermarket stocks won't fit without a significant amount of modification. They aren't going to drop in like the other ones do. So for all those reasons, you may want to re-think the idea.
