Amscor 45acp/ss

yesterday I ordered an Armscor 45acp in stainless through my local gunsmith...he said this is an excellent gun for fit/finish and everything you get for your money..he said he'd ordered one previously for another customer and was impressed with the quality of the gun for the money( mfd'd in Phillipines by 50 yr. old company)....can anyone give me any additional on my purchase ? total cost to me, taxes, everything for $450.00

    Armscor is out of the Philipines and nade the Charles Daly 45 (at least initially). I was not impressed with them either. There seemed to be no consistancy in their Quality Control and I mean in the raw materials and the finished product. Don't be blinded by all the bells and whistles at a bargin price. You pretty much get what you pay for.

    As a dealer I have seen the quality of ALL the Philippine .45's improve greatly over the last year. I recently torture tested a S.A.M., Shooting Arms Manufacturing .45 Elite model and I can tell you that this firearm is a WINNER. Tight, reliable and VERY accurate. You could pay twice as much and not get a better pistol. About the ONLY thing they need is a ramp and throat polish and a rear/front sight upgrade. Let us know how yours works out.
