3 questions
1)bakial shot guns any good or JUNK?
2)A good shotgun for the wife to shoot skeet what gauge? she is small framed 5'4" tall abotu 115 pounds 12ga is toooooo much!and i never shot the 28ga so I'm not sure on kick.(o she is scared of guns but wants to learn)410 may be too small for her to hit anything. What do you think.
3)Does anyone know where I can find or the maker or a "pelican" type rifle case?? I had one years ago and cant seem to find them now.

1. The Baikal are about as good as you are going to get for a Utility grade O/U especially in that price range. These Russian made guns won't ever be confused with a Perazzi or Browning but they are hell for stout.
2.See if you can find a Franchi AL48 Youth model in 20 gauge. Nice handling little autoloader, light recoil, and far better than average quality. The Youth Models have a shorter lenth of pull (stock) making them fit much better for those of small stature.

Bakial shot guns don't know about them. Second my wife shoots a franchi 20ga. She reloads her own shells. They are traveling at 1200fps with 7/8 ounce load of shot. She is only 5' 2". Also look in to porting the barrel and a good recoil pad. My wife's gun has a packmaur on hers. I have seen 12ga shot guns with the kick of a .410. It is all in the load and gun. With a little bit of money in the port and recoil pad there will be no problem. My wife uses a MEC 600jr reloader that cost us $60 used. You will find out that it is cheaper to reload that to buy shells. I have no clue about the rifle case. I hope that this helps.

The cost of the .410's will eat you alive, the 28's are a little bit better. However, most every (even small) adult can handle a 20 gauge if the gun is setup properly, has good recoil pads, and reasonable ammo is used. The ammo is a lot cheaper than its smaller cousins.

In real estate,THE PRIME RULE is location...
in shotguns,it is FIT. If the gun doesn't fit it will recoil worse and shoot poorly.Even at cowboy shoots I see ladies struggling with overly long shotguns and getting the snot smacked out of em.A well-fitted 12 gauge will kick less than apoorly fitted 20...more mass to the gun to absorb recoil.
IMHO,if you don't want her walkkng off after the first outing,buy the gun at a guntore that has knowledgable people to see that the gun fits the shooter,even if it costs a few bucks for modifications....good pad,porting,chamber lengthening,etc.
Winchester makes a load called Featherlites that have super low recoil.YOu might try a box of those if they are availabel.

Thanks for the info on the shot gun for the wife Im gonna look for the youth model franchi ported with recoil pad then put her into a good padded shooting shirt and let her go at it.
As for the baikal I bought a nib side by side for $300 and ordered an o/u
of same make and price. If nothing else they will look nice in the gun safe or on the wall by the ducks goose and phesant mounts[8D].All taken with trusty
870 express mag[:D]
As for the case Is called a "pelican" case cause it looks like the bill of a pelican and opens to the side on the top the gun is then lowered in.
this case holds the gun in a natural way and the scope is not touched at all.

Berreta 20 gauge auto. These guns can be adjusted to your wifes size. Light recoil and very reliable. Biakal shotguns are russian made and while the apear crude they shoot very well Russian olympic teams have used them for many years. 0
