Stevens 87-87A
I'd appreciate knowing whether a stock for a Mod. 87A is the same or compatible with a Mod. 87 .22 rifle.
Thanks

As far as I know, these all use the same stock. Semi-auto, with a tubular magazine, correct.
New stocks are available from Boyd's fou just under $52.00.0 -
Be careful they made a removable mag.model, also they made a synthetic stock called Tenite that will work.

The model with the clip or box magazine is not a model 87, it's a model 85.

It was established in an earlier thread that this rifle is the Stevens 87/87A.
The Tenite stocks were an early synthetic dating back to the mid-50's era, and not very good. It's rare to encounter one now that is not chipped or broken. (Although I did see a nice specimen at one auction site.)
My own specimen is marked "Springfield", and is a 95+%, but is still a Stevens-produced gun.
And, once again, the only source of new stocks that I've run across is Boyd's.0 -
BTW,FYI, The Stevens auction that I mentioned above is item # 5180461 at ***************. It has the tenite stock, is rated at 75+%, and currently has a $40 hugh bid on it, no reserve.
There are 9 hours left on this gun, and I'd bid it in myself, if it weren't for the fact that I have 2 of them.0 -
Joker,I'm not trying to argue with you.I'm,just trying to be helpful.I have two Springfield 87As for over 50 yrs. so I know what they look like .If you reread the original post you'll see it was me that posted a picture of a Springfield 87A because blacarro did not know the model he had and said it was marked Ranger 101.11.YOU WIN PICK UP YOUR MARBLES AND GO HOME.
