Bersa Firestorm Mini 40 S&W Stainless ??info??
The only thing is, I can find no reference of this gun on-line.
Any recollections out there?
I put this Bersa stainless 40 S&W on lay-away today. It has a small frame, a ten round double stack, and is a sharp, well-made, compact 40.
I didn't see the words "Firestorm Mini" on it; the receipt says it.
I was kind-a in a hurry, but I knew immediately I wanted the gun.
I never knew they made a 40S&W. Neither did the clerk.
Apparently it was bought, stored, never fired, and returned.
The only thing is, I can find no reference of this gun on-line. Any recollections out there?

Probably the mini comp. Made by a spanish outfit I cannot prounounce. Carry's the Firestorm and Bersa name. Same company also make pistols under the name Llama. It is a modern spanish double action pistol also made in .45 ACP. Nice little pistol, enjoy. Oh yeah, not stainless, nickle.

Where to start? First, check out the importers web site at:

Next, as ISP states, the gun cannot be stainless as they are not made in stainless. It is probably a nickel finish if original and not modified with an aftermarket finish.
Next, the .40 chambering is a standard chambering.
Next, the guns are made in Argentina, not Spain. (That is what "Industria Argentina" means stamped on the frame.)
My gun has "MiniFireStorm" on left side of the slide in an oval, and "Imported by R.S.A. Enterprises Ocean N.J." and "Fire Storm Inc." and "Ramos Mejia Argentina" (all letters on the right side are actually upper case of varying sizes) stamped on the right side of the slide. I believe the importer markings may have changed since my gun was imported, but I am not sure.
The guns are a derivative of the old Bersa Thunder 9, one of the best an most innovative designs ever, and one of my favorite guns. The excellent quality Thunder 9 had all the features (and very similar appearance) of a Walther P88 at one-fourth the cost. Once the 10-round limit came it, the Thunder 9 was kind of a large 10-shot gun, so was discontinued. After altering the design to shorten the butt so it would be the same length as the 15-round magazine cut down to hold only 10 rounds, and shortening the slide and barrel, the design was reintroduced under the FireStorm name. I bought an early one in 9x19 so I could use my original Bersa Thunder 9 15-round magazines for plinking. If you want to carry full-size magazines for spares, original 15-round Bersa magazines are extremely rare because the gun was introduced in Mid-1994 and only a few 15-round magazines were imported before the ban.
However, Beretta magazines are identical except for the location of the latch hole, so you could use Beretta full-size, high capacity magazines for spares by cutting a new latch hole. The magazines will still work in a Beretta so they are legal. It should be remembered that Beretta 9x19 and .40 magazine bodies are identical so either one can be used in the other. The same would apply to the Bersa/Firestorm.
I have been meaning to buy one in .45ACP but have spent my money on other guns of late. I love these guns.0 -

Judgecolt, I just yesterday won a Gunbroker auction for a Bersa Firestorm .40s&w. I comes with one 10 round mag. So, of course, I'm now looking for additional mags. And trying to find them has been frustrating. But, if I understand correctly, you're saying the Bersa Thunder 9x19 mag can be used with .40s&w ammo in the Firstorm. Is that right?0 -

Check out www.cheaperthandirt.com for the extra mags. Friend of mine has the Bersa in 45 ACP and choked when the went to the Bersa-Llama website and saw the price they are asking for magazines. $50 range there, $36 range on cheaperthandirt.
