Really don't have alot for you, but that style is called a "Clamshell".At one time very popular and quite common. No idea on value or collectability, but I think they're cool. Can't get to mine now to check for mfg, but its a complete rig in black basketweave as well-Bob

HANGFIRE has it right. The only clamshells i've seen were the basket weave design. If memory serves me right they were made for the S&W highway patrol .357 with a 6" bbl. Alot of ranges wont allow them for safety reasons. Back in the 70's i was shooting at the police range in Eureka,CA and an off duty officer tried a quickdraw with one. His mistake was thinking he could do it faster with the gun cocked. When the weight of the gun dropped the trigger down on his finger pressing the button he got a 125grn. hollow point through the top of his foot. I don't think anyone makes this kind of holster anymore and have never seen one for sale on G.B.

Thanks for the input, I have never heard of a clamshell holster before. I can see why they currently don't make this type of holster, as it possibley may be a safty concern. Thanks again

If you ever check out the old episodes of Adam-12 from the early '70's, they were using them with their model 15's.
