Mossberg 835

I would like to find out will any other barrel fit the 835. I would like to switch the 835 24" barrel to a 18 1/2" barrel for home protection will any of the other mossberg design shotgun barrels fit the 835? Thanks Steve

  After putting on a new forearm on my 835 I must have gotten the elevator assembly in the wrong place when I put it back together. Now it is stuck and I can't get it to budge so I can take everything apart and put back the right way. Anyone know how to get the elevator assembly out of it's jambed position? Thanks.

  The 835 is based on the 500/590 design but is built to handle the 3.5" shell. I am not aware of any other barrels fitting the 835, but you may be able to have a smith shorten your 24" barrel and relocate the bead sight.

  Thanks kingjoey, I was just trying not to do that. i was hoping that I could find another shorter barrel with out cutting my original. Thanks for the input. Steve

  If you watch, you can buy a new moossberg/maverick 88 with the 18 1/2" barrel for 160 or less... a barrel for the 835 will cost you most of that.
