Laser Sight for a Kimber??

I own a laser, but, frankly, it's more of a toy to impress your friends. Or, you can have fun letting your cat chase the little red light around the room. But, practical shooting? Forget it.

A laser may useful for a SWAT team, or prison guard trying to scare the inmates, but that's all. It washes out in sunlight, & shows your position in the dark.

The dot sights are a lot more practical; just buy good quality.

Avoid laser sights at all costs. If you want something along those lines, the look at an electronic red dot system instead. Laser sighting systems are one of those toys that are overused in movies and television, and near worthless in real-world applications (with the exception of use in painting targets for laser-guided munitions and accurate range-finding).

"Nuke 'em 'til they glow - then shoot 'em in the dark."

Ok, thanks guys for all of your advice. I will stay away from them at all costs.

They are fun to shoot with, but I wouldn't mess up your Kimber with it personally. I have an internal one on my Glock 20 and it is high intensity and I can see it during the daylight hours too, but an external one isn't practical for carry use (the internal one is great, although I'd likely never turn it on in a defense situation).
