.22lr ammo
What ammo is the best value for the buck? As in, most accurate, yet still cheap. I've been shooting CCI Blazers out of my 10/22 and like them, just wondering about other options. Also, I want to use it for some short range coyote hunting this year. Any suggestions on which factory load to use? Thanks!

I have used the CCI Mini-Mag hollow points for years. Each .22 model seems to like certain bullets over others, so it really depends on your gun, and it will let you know by the way it groups. I shot a sabre-toothed skunk in my yard last week with that ammo in a Ruger 10/22 and blew off half the body. 0 -
That CCI Ammo is probaly the best for the price. As for the coyote hunting I would not recommend you use a 22lr get you a bigger gun, just my 2 cents. 0 -
I shoot cheap Remington Thunderbolts and Cyclones through my 10/22. It isn't all that accurate, but at under 50 yards I can typically still hit a squirrel head. There's better ammo out there, but for $10/500 rounds it's hard to beat. 0 -

Just my opinion, but............
If you want to combine accuracy and hunting in the same round, you will compromise both efforts. For either effort alone, you might consider trying a couple of boxes of several brands of ammo in the price range that suits you, and see which one shoots the best. Of the rimfire target rifles I own, only two of them "like" the same brand of ammunition. You may very well find that your rifle hunts better with "this" round, and shoots targets more accurately with "that" round. I've always enjoyed finding out.
