    dm,

I thought I could easily help you (I have a couple of H&A's) but I'm having trouble. A few of questions: How is the cylinder loaded - swing out or does it completely detach from the frame? Is the trigger guard held to the frame with 2 screws? Is the frame brass or steel?

    No promises man!

cbxjeffIt's too late for me, save yourself.

Hopkins & Allen bought out the remnants of Forehand and Wadsworth ( another inexpensive revolver manufacturer ) in 1902.
If the grips on your revolver are original, this would be able to date it to the early 20th Century.
Believe the "no. 6" refers to the caliber of the revolver. H & A used the numbers "1 " through "8", to identify their revolvers by caliber.
