45 acp bullets

Is there such a thing as a "match grade" cast bullet for the 45 acp? What brands would you recommend if any?

    I picked up some 45 caliber(.451) bullets at s surplus store , weighing 155 grs. Can't find any loading data on that weight , any body know where to start with a powder charge ?

    The Laser Cast bullets from Oregon Trail is a quality bullet. They are a hard cast, so no leading. These are some of the best bullets I have found in any caliber that is affordable enough for me. They are made here in Oregon, and have a good website, not sure what it is but do a search and you will find them.

    is the tail of the cast bullet exposed to the heat and flame of the gases when pushed thru the bbl? if so....its not a match bullet. what makes a match 45 bullet is one that is not given a chance to become deformed while passing down the bbl from the hot gases that push it. if the lead melts in the bbl and then cools when in the air as it flies, it will cause the bullet to wobble in flight because it was melted and forced out of balance as it spins. (a lop sided bullet) the true 45 match bullet is a total copper jacketed bullet. this is one where the tail of the bullet is protected with copper. you may remember that many 44 mag owners shoot lead 44's with little brass inserts attached on the backs for this same reason. my suggestion for a lead/cast match bullet is 230 ball r n TCJ. its just enough to protect the lead for the 5 1/2" its must go with hot gases licking at its tail! on the copper side of the house, you cant achieve a fully incased 45 copper bullet. standard ball ammo is a copper cone filled from the back with lead. therefore, the true 45 match bullet is a lead tcj! try them! mine can hit black paper at 50yds
