recoil in a .45 blow back gun
is it much more than a 380?

In my opinion, it just pushes harder. Auto-loaders generally never have a "sharp" recoil. Now, if you were referring to a revolver in 454 Casull... that is SHARP recoil[}:)]

It also depends on the grip.
My 380 AMT Backup had a punch,
My 40 S&W was smooth in comparison, but it had a full size grip.
Then the Walther 380 has more "bite" than the 40, but the grip is smaller.
My .45 punches noticeably harder than the 40, but not by much.
And it had a longer barrel, and appears easier to control.
A friend summed it up - bigger pipe, less resistance. Don't know if it means anything.
Also, a .44 magnum Redhawk with Pachmyer grips was a smooth shooter, but put on the slim smooth wood factory grips, it jumps up like it got stung!

Also depends on the gun and its design. Tell me that you're not eyeballing a .45 HiPoint, I thought we were past that[:D]

What can I say, a fool never learns.
I thought I would give it a try. Cost the same amount to shoot the 45 or the 380.
I have 450 rounds through my 380 so I thought I would give the 45 a shot.
Oh, btw. you guys where right. I got bit the the gun bug!
Just wish I had a place to do my own reloading!
