Silver Bear Ammo
Ok, I tried the wolf ammo question, and decided to go with yalls suggestions and not use it in a ar15, but what about this nickel plated Silver Bear? Sounds ok to me, anyone shot it in an ar15? The price sure is right.

Silver Bear ammo, it's it any good? I should have asked this before but i just got a case of 1000 rounds. I gon't really want to shoot this stuff in my Bretta but i guess it's ok for a hi-point.
I also got a case of brown bear ammo anyone use this stuff?

Silver Bear has the "red sealant" that is supposedly the problem with the wolf ammo. It is the sealant between the bullet and the case, and supposedly builds up in the chamber. Wolf has discontinued use of the sealant and a lot of people are now using wolf with no problems. If you try new ammo, buy a couple of boxes and try it. If it works, great, buy it in bulk, if it doesn't, you don't get stuck with 800 rounds of ammo you can't use.... Rumor has it there is a lot of South African Brass cased stuff coming in that has been sitting in customs for a while now. It's supposed to come out early next year, but will be a little more expensive than it used to be. Bass Pro Shops had winchester white box .223 on sale for $2.88/ box not to long ago. Watch for sales and stock up on the good stuff, then you don't have to worry about whether or not you gun will like the stuff.... 0 -
I've had good results with the Silver Bear in my Bushy, but it also ate Barnaul ammo without a hiccup either.
