218 bee
I have a 218 bee I got from my grandfather he got it in the late 40s it has the original scope mounts and scope it is in mint condition wiht a lease 99% blueing. I would like to be able to get a price on it any information would be helpfull

Since I am unable to find a reasonably price 218 Bee caliber rifle, what rifle calibers could be re chambered to accept this caliber and would this be a viable solution.
I have a very nice Rem. 700 in .223 that I never shoot but I have lots of 218 B ammo I acquired for free.

He Dog and Bert H are absolutely correct, but what the hell, I'll give it a shot. Given the caliber and the time frame of manufacture I would suspect that it is a Winchester M-43. It was manufactured from after the War to the late 50s/early 60s. Made in 22 Hornet, 218 Bee, 25-20 and 32-20, STD and DELUXE models. However, Win did not D&T until very late in production. Therefore, (given the stated manufacture time) it was D&Ted by someone after it was sold and probably has a Weaver side mount with a Weaver 3/4" scope, usually a 4X. STD model unaltered, exc+ cond. would probably be worth $550+ or so to someone that wanted it more as a collector than a shooter. Hornet was next in popularity, with 25-20 and 32-20 bringing up a far distant rear. Probably now it would bring more realistically, $450-500.Generally, if it is the DELUXE model you can add $200-300 to the STD price even a bit more for the two scarcer calibers.
