    I think as long as the objective size is the same you should be OK. Of course it needs to have screw-in threads on the objective. They actually make something I think they call ARD that doesn't require screw threads.
    I dunno about the Simmons, but I tried a 4" shade on my Leupold Vari-X III 4.5x14x50 and found it kinda useless. Unless the sun is within a very thin angle from the direction your shooting. It doesn't seem to help at all when the sun is overhead. When it is overhead I often take a light towl or a chunk of a black sheet and drape over my head and over the scope.

    They have sunshades and ARDs. I ordered a honey-comb sunshade insert for my Simmons Aetec 2.8x10x44mm. Mounts between the Butler Creek objective flip up cap and the objective bell.

    My Aetec 2.8x10x44mm came from the factory with a screw on sunshade.
